Who We Are

Rubin Security Consultants was born out of a desire to provide tailored security solutions to cultural and community organizations as well as other small businesses that may not have the resources or bandwidth on their own to develop the plans and procedures needed for safe and secure operations. These solutions blend time-tested strategies with modern technology to meet specific needs of museums, cultural institutions, and historic sites.

Owner & Principal Scott Rubin has a proven track record and over a decade of experience in operations, emergency planning, and customer service in both the cultural and educational sectors. With a M.A. from West Virginia University (2010), Scott’s background is in Public History and Cultural Resource Management (CRM). He is also a Certified Institutional Protection Manager through the International Foundation for Cultural Property Protection and FEMA trained in a variety of security areas including workplace security awareness, incident command systems, and active shooter. He currently works in Baltimore, Maryland as Vice President of Operations and Visitor Experience at the Maryland Center for History and Culture.

Through this unique blending of history, operations, and security management, Rubin Security Consultants brings to the table an understanding of the unique needs of small businesses and cultural institutions to preserve their assets and personnel against an array of modern threats and emergencies.
